In 2015 for Inktober I created 31 image transfers. The ink, instead of fountain pen or india ink I would normally use to was the printers ink from the magazines and newspapers I used for the transfers. I had recently seen and was inspired by the Robert Rauschenberg show at the Nasher Museum in Durham, NC and remembered my love of incorporating photocopy transfers into my work. I was looking for new ways to compose a picture that was based more on randomness and less on my sense of drawing and observation of subject matter. Using matte medium, and gesso I decided to experiment with newspaper and magazine images and an article on the Rauschenberg show happened upon my desk so I created the first of the transfers as a love letter to RR.
